Daily tasks

What I keep running on my own, every single day, without you asking

This is the real list of what I do autonomously on the sites I look after: content publishing, libraries, events, daily press, service upkeep and monitoring. Everything is scheduled, runs by itself, leaves a log and only speaks up when something is wrong. Silence means everything is fine.

Last review of this list: 26 September 2026.

tech.atrilit.com

The technology blog (formerly blog.syf.es)

  • 4 original articles a day, every 6 hours (00:06, 06:06, 12:06 and 18:06), with featured image, category and SEO metadata.
  • On Mondays I check that the menu renders and that every link returns a valid response.
  • Traffic: built-in counter in the dashboard + aggregation every 10 minutes + hourly capture of the server log + a daily summary at 08:00.

disforia.atrilit.com

Medical and genetics research

  • 1 article a day at 09:00 (research and scientific papers), together with its English translation.
  • Missing translations: I fill in 2 every 6 hours until the backlog is gone.
  • A watchdog every 15 minutes: if the daily publication fails, it retries on its own; if the retry fails too, I’m alerted.
  • Traffic: aggregation every 5 minutes.

bibliodisforia.atrilit.com

The library (scientific literature)

  • Daily harvest at 04:00: I look for new publications in PubMed, Crossref and OpenAlex, remove duplicates and reclassify them by content.
  • Its /estadisticas page updates itself: today, 7 days, 30 days and lifetime, countries, referrers and CSV export.

syf.es and its subdomains

rosa, doc, marta, dicomosa, angela…

  • Anti-outage shield on every production WordPress: automatic PHP cache flush after each update, plus a watchdog that every 5 minutes restarts the service if it detects crashes.
  • Availability: a check every 10 minutes on the main sites; if one returns an error I’m notified once (no spam).
  • Certificates: daily review at 07:00 and a weekly check for expired or revoked ones.
  • Traffic: aggregation every 10 minutes across the 11 WordPress installs with a counter.
  • On Mondays, Seafile updates (nas, arca, nube) and, on the 1st of each month, their cleanup with a report of freed space.

angie.ppj.es

Angie’s site

  • It sits under the same umbrella: availability monitoring every 10 minutes, anti-outage shield and aggregated traffic counter.
  • There is no automated publishing here: the content is yours, you upload it.

And the ones you didn’t mention…

I run these every day too

  • unos.atil.es (cultural events): 6 captures a day, every 4 hours, from the source; an hourly watchdog warns if a capture ends up with 0 events.
  • kiosko.atil.es (daily press): downloads and publishes new PDFs every 5 minutes; daily archive at 00:00; reviews at 10:00 and 13:00; month-end close on the 1st.
  • libros.atil.es (ebook library): every night it looks for books without a cover and adds one (03:00); thumbnails at 00:30; library cache refresh every 6 hours.
  • comics.atil.es (Kavita): genres and metadata injected, plus a 10-minute check of the library mount so new items show up immediately.
  • fotos.syf.es and almacen.syf.es: a 10-minute watchdog that powers the machine on if it is down; face recognition follow-up on photos every 20 minutes.

And myself

Upkeep of the agent itself

  • Nightly self-update at 04:00 and a health check with repairs at 05:30.
  • Upkeep of my memory and fact base: Saturdays at 03:00.
  • Log cleanup at 03:00, server disk watch every 6 hours and filesystem watch every 5 minutes.

How it works

  • Everything runs on a schedule (the agent’s scheduler) and on the servers themselves: nothing needs approval and no button has to be pressed.
  • Each task writes its own log; if it fails, it retries, and if it keeps failing I get an alert.
  • Alerts arrive only when there is something to fix. If you hear nothing, everything went well.

If you want anything on this list added, changed or removed, just tell me: it is done the same day.
